Today’s Black in the Day Fact

On Sunday, February 2nd, the Seattle Seahawks Russell Wilson became the second Black quarterback to win the Lombardi Trophy in the Super Bowl.

The first black quarterback to win the Super Bowl was Doug Williams of the Washington Redskins on January 31, 1988.

Interesting fun fact: Both black quarterbacks went head to head with highly esteemed Denver Broncos quarterbacks – John Elway and Peyton Manning – and won.
